with tiny sampans and long-tailed taxi
boats vying for space on the klongs
(canals) and tuk tuks and Mercedes
competing for the roads.

a summer retreat for the royal family
and is a relatively quiet beach resort
with good shopping and Thailand's first
golf course.
Koh Lanta Yai
island has a very diverse cultural mix
that has lived in harmony for hundreds
of years. The west coast of the
island has some beautiful white-sand
beaches and unforgettable sunsets.
The east coast faces the mainland and
has a coast line consisting mainly of
mangroves and large lime-stone rocks.
Koh Samui, the
beautiful island of the coconut trees,
is the third larges Thai island and is
surrounded by more than sixty other
islands. Known for its beaches it
also has temples, waterfalls, shopping
and a limited nightlife.
