Indian Ocean. The original buildings
have been sympathetically restored and
modernised to include the necessary
facilities. There are 15 exclusive
deluxe rooms dotted along the shore and
roofed with traditional makuti, each with an
en-suite. The old quarantine area has
been converted into 12 elegant suites with
en-suites and sea views. In the old
Prison Fort there is a boutique, a library,
a restaurant and a bar. In addition
there is Mathew's Restaurant overlooking the
swimming pool.
The local inhabitants of the island are a
community of Aldabra Giant Tortoises that
came to settle in Changuu in the 1920's.
In this untouched natural paradise it is
possible to swim in a natural lagoon where
sea turtles can often be seen. |
