Located atop a hill overlooking the Lake Gardens, the resolutely colonial Carcosa Seri Negara is a boutique hotel featuring 13 Victorian-style suites deriving their names from Malaysian states.
This carefully restored residence set in four acres of lush gardens was originally built in 1904 and retains its former grace and charm.  All the suites have separate living rooms with garden views, while the larger ones also have big terraces and dining rooms.
The hotel dining room features gourmet French cuisine accompanied by sweeping garden views, while fine Malay cuisine is served at The Gulai House,  where veranda dining is on offer.  Not to be missed is the sumptuous English afternoon tea at The Drawing Room.
