Loisaba Lodge, Laikipia

Only a few miles from the equator, this private game ranch on 60,000 acres is in a wilderness of remote beauty where the farm management and local community work together to preserve the environment and abundant surrounding wildlife.  The view from Loisaba extends hundreds of miles and through the ranch roam elephant, lion and leopard alongside the endemic species that thrive here - gerenuk, Grevy's zebra and reticulated giraffe.  Accommodation can either be in the main lodge which has seven rooms, Star Beds under the stars or in the house or cottage which offer guests private and exclusive accommodation, with their own staff, car and guide.  The lodge is built on an escarpment and is luxurious, yet in harmony with its surrounding; full of adventure, yet an oasis of calm.

Governors' Il Moran Camp, Masai Mara

This exclusive camp is situated along the banks of the Mara River and hidden in the shadow of ancient trees.  The camp recreates the atmosphere of the original hunting camps and each of the ten tents is furnished to a superior standard.  The beds have been hand carved from fallen ancient olive trees and the en-suites include a Victorian style bath.  Each tent has a large veranda where you can take dinner in private if you wish, other meals are served outdoors amongst the trees.
The Masai Mara is a unique area with a constant and unrivalled flow of wildlife throughout the year.  In the camp birds and butterflies abound, elephants wander through the night and leopards call nearby.
Nowhere else can you get so far from civilisation, yet stay in such style.

Jahazi House, Lamu Island

Jahazi House, named after the historical large trading dhows that brought Lamu its trading wealth, stands right on the edge of the Indian Ocean in two acres of garden.  The house is built of coral block plastered in the local neru finish, tinted a soft ochre yellow.  Designed on traditional lines around an inner courtyard which holds a very private swimming pool and access to the bedrooms.  There are four simply furnished bedrooms all with en-suite shower rooms and private verandas.  The roof is one huge terrace, partially covered with makuti to provide a shaded bar, eating and sitting area.  There is a separate small covered massage room with trellised walls at the back of the building.
The house has a team of staff that includes a host, room stewards, chefs and there's  a boat and captain for personal use.

Alfajiri Villas, Mombasa

Considered by many as the finest villas on the East African Coast, Alfajiri Villas overlook the Indian Ocean and their elevated positions ensure privacy and stunning views.  These are African style villas where the theme is high Makuti roofs, ivory Danish floor, wooden beams, Lamu doors and impressive African and Far Eastern artifacts.  Large verandas with huge hand carved sofas dominate the front of the villas and a swimming pool sits on the edge of a small cliff merging into the sea and the horizon.
The Cliff and Garden Villas both accommodate eight people in four bedrooms, the Beach Villas accommodates four people.  Discreet service from twenty experienced staff is available as and when required and menus are adapted to suit guests.
A number of activities are included, including golf clubs and green fees, massages and snorkeling.

Galdessa Camp, Tsavo

Under the shade of the doum palms, Galdessa Camp is divided into downstream and upstream camps, which offer two separate entities with private mess and lounges.  Accommodation is comfortable and spacious bandas each of which has en-suite bathrooms and verandas.  The camp's location on the river makes it ideal for walking safaris as well as game drives in open vehicles.  After an adventurous day's safari, you can listen, drink in hand, to the murmur of the wild animals nearby, while under the enchanting spell of mother Africa.  A stay at Galdessa Camp, with its romantic, old fashioned charm, style, comfort, security, first-class service and excellent cuisine is an unforgettable experience.
