The Collection features
some of the best accommodation in the world,
many of them members of "Leading Hotels of
the World", "Relais and Chateaux" and "Small
Luxury Hotels of the World". among
these pages you will discover a selection of
the world's most extraordinary luxury
hotels, resorts, spas, lodges and villas.
Many of those featured, in our opinion, have
reached new heights of luxury. They
have pushed back the boundaries and made an
art form of imaginative design and
innovative style, offering discreet,
impeccable service and breathtaking
facilities.
Although many of our selection
are situated in a beach environment, we also feature
a number of destinations that require you to
participate. In Africa you can enjoy a game
drive, relaxing afterwards in a tented camp with all
the comforts of a modern luxury hotel but the
ambiance of a bygone age. In Rajasthan we have
a luxurious resort set on the edge of a jungle
famous for its resident tigers or the romance of
sitting on a balcony offering breathtaking views of
the Taj Mahal. Alternatively stay in a 17th
century castle surrounded by lakes and gardens in
the United Kingdom or maybe a colonial style hotel
amidst the world heritage site of Angkor Wat in
Cambodia is for you.

Stress free travel
Flying can be stressful, there
is getting to the airport, queues at check-in,
limited baggage allowances and the hassle of getting
seated together. Then one through immigration,
there is the problem of finding somewhere to sit
while you wait for your flight to be called and
having to carry your hand-baggage with you
everywhere you go. But there are other
ways of travelling, by upgrading to first of
business class, the getting there is as relaxing as
the being there. |
 |
At airports
there are dedicated check-in desks
where you are allowed high personal
baggage allowances and complimentary
passes to the airline lounges.
The best lounges now rival private
members' clubs. Many offer the
opportunity to freshen up with
shower and changing facilities,
refreshments, business areas with
internet and email access,
television areas, newspapers and
magazines plus a dedicated quiet
area where passengers can stretch
out and relax. Often there is
a lounge restaurant where you can
enjoy fine dining before you embark.
If you are travelling at night this
enables you to sleep during the
flight rather than needing to wake
for meals. |
|
Once on board,
the major advantage to travelling
first or business class is more
space, on many airlines this can be
privatised; and the ability to
recline seats into a comfortable
sleeping position. Most
first class passengers can enjoy
completely flat 'beds' which are
perfect for a restful night's sleep.
There is a choice of menus, many
created by some of the world's
finest chefs and complimented by a
superb selection of wines, these
meals are usually served to
passengers at a time that suits
them. |
 |
|
To ease
passengers into different time zones
during long haul flights some
airlines offer adjustable ambient
lighting that cleverly mimics the
effects of night and day, this helps
combat jet lag. Once at your
destination you disembark first and
your baggage, which has often been
priority tagged, is usually on the
carousel quickly.
Why not ask
about first or business class
travel. |
