It has more national parks that any other country in Africa and an unrivaled diversity of wildlife.  The ethnic wealth of its numerous tribes makes for a diverse mosaic of cultures, each with their own language, customs and dress.  From the distinctive reds of the Masai Warriors herding their cattle across the northern plains of the Ngorongoro and the clicking hunter-gather tribe of the Hadzabe to the veiled Arab  women scurrying through the narrow labyrinths of Zanzibar's Stone Town.

The island of Zanzibar, the ornate and mysterious jewel in the Indian Ocean, was once the eastern gateway to Africa.  Over the centuries traders, adventurers, plunderers and explorers have all been enticed to these shores.  The island is characterised by beautiful sandy beaches with fringing coral reefs and a diverse range of marine life.  It also has the magic of Stone Town, an UNESCO heritage site and the island's capital.  Here you will find a wonderful mix of African and Arabic culture with fascinating markets and narrow winding streets where the aroma of spices fills the air.
