Greece conjures up
a myriad of images, of ancient legend and
mythology, of thousands of islands scattered
across the Aegean and Ionian seas, endless
beaches and landscapes dotted with vineyards
and olive trees. Everywhere there are
remains of the country's long and
distinguished history; the flat topped hill
of the Acropolis, home of the
Parthenon, the temples of Delphi, Byzantine
churches, medieval castles and nestled
beneath the Acropolis in Athens are the
narrow streets of the Plaka, lined with
tavernas, cafés
and an amazing variety of shops.
Piraeus Port is the gateway to the islands
and although each island is unique, all
offer the traveller a memorable holiday of
lazy days and balmy nights.

renowned for its lively atmosphere. It has a number of beaches
ranging from cosmopolitan to secluded and a good selection of tavernas,
bars and nightlife. The beautiful capital, Hora, is representative
of the island's architecture which is typically Cycladic with
whitewashed cubic houses with flat roofs, blue doors and windows, narrow
paved streets, flowered balconies and a magic atmosphere.
